Thyphoid Jack

Jack woke up yesterday with a cold. So he snuggled with his puppy and train blankets and his puppy and monkey on the couch. The only time Jack is not running around is when he is sick and even then he still sometimes runs around and plays.

However, today he is just plain sick and looks pitiful. He was up all last night with a cough and nasty nose. Which I am sure to inherit since he slept with me and coughed in my face throughout the night.

Lucky for me, he fell asleep at 11:30 a.m. and is still asleep now at almost 4:oo p.m.
I am rested and ready for the next wave of activity.

When you're helping, you're happy

We had our good friend, Kristina, and her soon to be husband, Aaron, stay with is last weekend. Jack was very helpful in preparing the house for their arrival.

Here he is contemplating the idea of using the vacuum himself. He much prefers to run away and giggle when I use it.

With his monkey cast aside, he is now ready to vacuum.

"Help with this?" This is the phrase Jack uses immediately when he spots me with the mop or the broom. He loves to sweep and mop.

Apparently cleaning makes him a little warm. When I walked back into the living room from putting away the vacuum, I found Jack like this. I only wish he had gold chains and some chest hair to make the picture more interesting:)

Jack's new favorite winter snack.

So, Jack loves walking in the snow and then watching it melt off his shoes when he returns inside. He's taken this past time to a new level. Yesterday as we were driving to the library, after walking through snow to get to the car, I heard a slurping sound coming from the back seat. At the first stoplight, I turned to see what he was sucking on. Yep, he was sucking on his shoe. I asked him what he was eating and his response, "Toe nummies." I tried to get him to stop but to no avail. He enjoyed his toe nummies again today. This may be a daily treat until the end of winter. Gross.

Arctic Explorer

We took these pictures just before the Christmas thaw.

"Wow, look at that." This is Jack's current favorite phrase. He uses it daily, especially when riding in the car. Or in this case, riding on a sled.

Jack LOVES trees. (Well if you translated it into "Jackese" it is pronounced twee with multiple changes in pitch as you say the word.) Everywhere we go, he points out trees and loves to touch them. A budding Arborist maybe?

Just have to point out that it is the woman who is 8 months pregnant pulling the toddler around the backyard.

Where are the polar bears?

The return trip.

Sacrament Nummies

So, is my toddler the only one who stands up while the sacrament is being passed and yells, "Nummies!"?

Why am I always pregnant when I visit Sandusky?

So, my husband turned to me yesterday and said, last weekend was more fun. Apparently, cleaning out the kids closet and going through baby clothes is not his idea of a good time. So, what did we do last weekend? We drove 5.5 hours to spend the weekend at an indoor water park with our fun friends, the Bodells, from Chicago. We miss our former neighbors and loved spending time chatting, playing games and swimming. The two pregnant women really loved the weightless feeling of swimming.
I have to point out that Lindsey cut my husband's hair and I am so happy for him to finally have a great haircut. We miss her monthly visits to our house with clippers in hand. However, the tub at the hotel may never be the same.
Ice Cream Belly
Water slide. After this, Jack went down alone and we caught him at the bottom. What a grownup kid. He would squeal with delight with arms outstretched.

I agree with Lindsey about this picture. It looks like Jack has a dark hair toupee.

So to truly enjoy Sandusky, I recommend not going when pregnant. I missed out on all the water slides this time and the last time we went to Sandusky I was pregnant with Jack and missed out on all of the fabulous roller coasters. I will someday return to this small town in Ohio to ride the famous roller coasters.

I scream, you scream . . .

We all scream for Ice Cream. Well, in Jack's case he and his friends Afton and Chelsea were so adorable at lunch last Saturday in Sandusky, Ohio that the older couple at the neighboring table bought the kids a round of ice cream. It was a sweet gesture and it made the 4 parents at the table happy to know that strangers find their kids as cute as we do.

Jack doesn't just want to taste the ice cream but wants to have a full facial experience. Look at his beautiful eyes too.

And did I mention that I live for his blond curls and pray every night that his little sister is blessed with these beautiful locks too.
