6 years ago today

Ryan and I posed for these pictures.

My favorite picture of the day.

Where does the time go?

Look who is 6 months old?

Hard to believe that she is half way through her first year of life.

She is all smiles, giggles and blue eyes.
We think she'll have red hair like her mommy and hope that it will have some curl. For now we are just glad that the bald spot on the back of her head is filling in and that she tolerates hair clips. (Ryan laughs when I try to "do" her hair but I think it's cute.)

Stats for the Grandmas:
15 lbs 4 ounces
27 inches

Did I mention that she is still sleeping through the night?
She is an angel.

Excersaucer

Adeline has a new toy and she really enjoys it. She can stand and play with all of the fun toys.

She's figured out how to spin and take a look at the world.

However, her brother likes to spin her around or spin the toys too fast.
Makes it less fun for her.

Or worse, he climbs in and uses it himself.

Will anything be just for her? Ever?

Sweet Adeline

Family Nap Time

I've shared the wonderful afternoon past time that is family nap time. It is heavenly when we all get chance to fall asleep and rest before the next adventure. Before I fell asleep myself I went to check on Jack. Apparently Ryan did not make it out of Jack's room before they were both asleep. I tried to wake Ryan up so he could move to a more comfortable spot but anyone who knows how hard Ryan sleeps knows that was a wasted effort.

After I woke up I poked my head into Jack's room again. How either of them can be comfortable is beyond me but they are still happily asleep as I type. Notice their similar sleeping styles.

Ryan's been working overnights in the Trauma/ICU for the past month so he is always on the verge of sleep. This is the most time he's had to spend with Jack even if they are both asleep. Just 5 more shifts left. Not that anyone's counting:)

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

Every year (except one) since Ryan and I got married, we've spent Thanksgiving with his two sisters and their families. Ryan's sister plans a yummy spread and we all help prepare it. With this yummy meal in mind, I'm learning a new skill. My friend, April, who is amazing in her bread making skills taught me how to not kill yeast. Once I learned that things got a little easier. Thanks to April, I can now make these

I'm addicted to homemade rolls now and we are eating them often. I know that Thanksgiving is several months away but is it wrong that I am already salivating over dinner?

Can this week top last week?

I don't know.
Jack got to see and climb on firetrucks twice last week.
That is hard to beat.

Here's Jack with "the boy" at our neighborhood night out in the park.

Even with the downpour, Jack could not move away from the firetrucks.
He wore his fireman's hat everywhere he went for several days.

He can almost see over the steering wheel.

We're going to the airport today to pick up Ryan. That may top the firetrucks. We'll see.
