Perfectly Splendid

Our Easter turned out splendid.
I was worried about the fate of our day when Addy initial refused to wear her Easter dress because she thought the flowers
and the butterflies were "too scary." She recovered and even managed to let me do something with her hair. Once that major hurdle was complete, the day was smooth sailing.
Ryan sang beautifully with a double quartet in church and the church meetings were all wonderful reminders of why Resurrection Sunday is such a sacred holiday.
The culinary highlight of the day was the Australian rack of lamb served for dinner.
We will repeat this as our traditional Easter meal.
I changed our traditional meal to better match the Challah bread that I bought at the scout auction. It arrived warm and fresh out of the oven just as we were ready to sit down for dinner. The entire dinner was so wonderful that I wanted to repeat it again right after I finished eating.

The younger munchin slept through dinner and the older munchins fell asleep immediately after dinner. A perfect gift to the adults who were able to converse and eat strawberries and homemade angel food cake in peace and quiet.

Super Addy

Her love for the green bug glasses led to finding a cape and spending the morning as "Super Snap Addy." She was heard saying "I'm super fast!" and "There's an animal in trouble. We better save it."

Recipe for a great birthday

Choose your favorite donuts from Dunkin Donuts.

Chocolate sprinkles are always the best choice.

Open an American Airlines pin from your Great Grandma. Wear it and call your self Super American Airlines as you rescue stuffed animals in trouble.

Read the world's biggest book on Airplanes.

Spend an entire afternoon building a LARGE Lego airplane with your dad.

Enjoy your tarantula birthday cake with friends.

A great day for a great boy!

Just add water

We are so ready for our vacation to Florida.

We may wear our swimsuits all day just to remind ourselves that it is warm and sunny somewhere.

pants are not an option

Although pants always seem to be optional at our house, they are not really even a remote possibility for this little girl. Stuffing my baby into a pair of pants seems cruel. Especially when you take the pants off and you can see the pocket and stitching imprinted in her skin.

So we are all about dresses, skirts, tights and leggings at our house.
(I know, doesn't she look exactly like her dad if he were to wear a denim dress with turquoise leggings? The Shelton genes are strong in this kid.)

Speaking of her dad, look at the love she's sending him in the form of her smile and bright eyes. It's nice of her to do that once in a while since I am her clear favorite most of the time.

Looking forward to a summer of sundresses for this little one.

Row Row Row Your Boat

The kids played with this box for days and days.
Wyatt came up with the idea to make oars.

They rowed around and around.
